Luttfia Dekermanji passed away on Monday afternoon at Mt. Auburn Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 86. Born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, Luttfia immigrated to the United States with her husband and three sons in the early 80's. She was a resident of Watertown for 37 years. Luttfia was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She found her greatest joy spending time with family and friends, cherished her grandchildren, and enjoyed hosting celebrations in her home. Her door was always open, she took pride in her cooking, knitting and sewing, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The beloved wife of the late Hanna Dekermanji, Luttfia was a loving mother to three sons, Antonio and his wife Kathleen of Medford, Edgar and his wife Maria of Danvers and Jack of Watertown. She was the cherished and devoted Nana to Alexander, John, Rachel and Olivia.
A funeral service will be held at St. Matthew's Syriac Orthodox Church, 149 Park Street, West Roxbury on Friday, August 10th. Visiting hours for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
