Henry R. Robles, 85, of Ojai, passed away at his home on August 6, 2018. Born on December 26, 1932 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Henry immigrated to the United States, was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Ventura County resident for 56 years.
He worked at the Ojai Valley Inn for nearly 30 years advancing to the position of head maître d’. He enjoyed working around the house and always had time for a game of cards, especially poker or blackjack. Henry was especially proud of his automobiles, keeping them in pristine condition over the years.
Henry is survived by his daughters, Editha O’Neill and her husband, Joseph, of Oxnard, and Stella Vandegrift and her husband, Myles, of Ramona; his sister, Delie Espejo and her husband Ted, of San Francisco; his grandchildren, Jared, Joseph IV, Geoffrey, Melissa, Ryan, Olivia, Zachery, Samuel and Zoe; and his great-grandchildren, Nia, Abbeygale, Joseph V (a.k.a.Jack), and Amelia. Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Julianna Robles, and his daughter, Carol Asis. His daughter, Celia Montgomery, passed away just hours before Henry passed away.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ojai.
