Lawrence D. Marston, Sr., 81

Dateline: Hernando, Florida

Lawrence D. Marston, Sr., age 81, of Hernando, Florida, formerly of Mansfield, passed away at the Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy J. (Barron) Marston, to whom he was wed for fifty-two years at the time of her death on January 11, 2010.

Born in Brockton, MA on September19, 1936, he was a loving son of the late Edward A. and Vera E. (Kay) Marston.

Larry grew up in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following over twenty years of military service he was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant and returned to school, receiving his Associates Degree from Fisher College.

He moved to Mansfield in 1974 and prior to retiring had been employed as a pet nutritionist at Ferestien Feed & Farm Supply in Foxborough. Mr. Marston had formerly worked at the former Mansfield Feed & Farm Supply.

Larry treasured the times spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast and proud cancer survivor. While living in Mansfield, he was a member of the Foxborough Country Club and a member and past King Lion of the Mansfield Lions Club.

He is survived by his devoted children Donna L. Coogan and her husband Bryan of Bethel, Ohio, Vickie L. Champagne and her husband Ronnie of Taunton, and Lawrence D. Marston, Jr. and his wife Judith of Mansfield. He was the cherished grandfather of Melissa Willis, Stacy Ericson, Matthew Polvado, Jeffrey Polvado and Dylan Marston, and great grandfather of Daniel, Brayden, Abbey, Nicholas, Skyler, Bailey, Emma, Olivia and Jack. He was the dear brother of Bruce W. Marston and his wife Doreen of Nashville, TN and the loving companion of eight years to Dot Corindia of Hernando, Florida.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, August 16th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

A service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lawrence’s memory may be made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048.
