Obituary

Daniel Brinduse, 95, life long Anderson resident, died August 3, 2018 at The Legacy at Bethany Pointe.
Dan was born on July 15, 1923 in Anderson, the son of John and Vera (Popa) Brinduse. He was a 1941 graduate of Anderson High School and served during WW II in the United States Army and was awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat and Expert Infantry Badge, and the French Legion of Honor. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 34 years, retiring 1978 as a postmaster in Fairmount. Following his retirement he was employed by the Davisson Law Offices for several years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson, where he started the Busy Beavers Sunday School Class for special needs children, and the Madison County Stamp Club. He was also instrumental in starting the Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Shinness Brinduse, who he married July 19, 2003, daughter, Carol Grace of Anderson; son, Jerry (Jadd) Brinduse of Caneyville, KY, three step children, David Shinness of Canada, Roger Shinness Carmel, and Molly Estabrook of Anderson; four grandchildren, Eric (Heather) James and Erin James of Texas, Jason Brinduse of KY and Jennifer Brinduse of CA; and several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in the extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara J. (Shaw) Brinduse,
and 11 siblings, Flora, Vasalie, Ana, John Jr., Matthew, Joseph, Anne, Olivia "Lee" , Paul, Ruth and Mary and a stepson, Tom Shinness.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 907 North Raible Avenue; Anderson, IN officiated by Dr. Art Jaggard.
Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and Thursday one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to I.U. Research Center for Alzheimer's, Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department, or First Baptist Church.
