LOWELL - Mr. Eric Victor Zen-Ruffinen, age 58, a retired Navy Veteran and electronic technician, died unexpectedly at his home in the Christian Hill section of Lowell on Friday, August 3, after several years of courageously battling the effects of Parkinson’s Disease. He was the husband and best friend of Virgilyn B. “Gie” (Bermudez) Zen-Ruffinen, with whom he had celebrated a tenth wedding anniversary this past May 23rd.
He was born in Natick in April, 1960, one of six children of the late Victor J. and Rosa Lee (Helcel) Zen-Ruffinen, raised in Sharon, and after retiring from the Navy, moved to Lowell in 1990.
He enlisted into the Navy in 1983, and rose to the rank of aviation electronic technician 2nd Class, and retired in February 1990.
Following his military service, he continued his civilian career as an electronic technician in microchip manufacturing for MA/COM and most recently Skyworks in Woburn.
Besides his wife, Gie, he leaves five siblings, Susan Zen-Ruffinen of Deleware, Scott Zen-Ruffinen and his wife Maritess of Randolph, Mark Zen-Ruffinen and his wife Regina of Indiana, Craig Zen-Ruffinen and Kurt Zen-Ruffinen and his wife Rhonda all of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Celebration Of Life, including Navy Honors, will be held Saturday, August 11, at 10:30 a.m. in the American Legion, Post 247, 90 Pawtucket Blvd., Tyngsboro, MA. The Celebration of Life will continue until 2:30 on Saturday in the Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Michael J.
