Marjorie Catherine Sikes Sandifer, 82, of Tifton passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Legacy Village in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. A eulogy will be given by her grandson, Tyler Sandifer. Mrs. Sandifer will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, April 6, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Tyler Sandifer, Brant Sandifer, Lucas Hand, Sam Hand, Adam Davis, Billy Sunday, Craig Walton, Wes Black and Derek Morgan will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 9, 1936 in Cook County, Mrs. Sandifer was the daughter of the late Irwin “Sam” Sikes and Margaret Thornton Sikes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tillman Sandifer and was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she volunteered at the Family Life Center for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and care-giver to her family and friends.
Mrs. Sandifer is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen and Vicki Hampton Sandifer, Mark and Venita Kicklighter Sandifer and Paul Sandifer, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Mark Hand of Tifton; one sister, Judy Barker of Tifton; her grandchildren, Erin and Adam Davis, Taylor Hand and Derek Morgan, Lucas and Kelly Hand, Sam Hand and Aubree Pollock, Amy and Wes Black, Becca and Billy Sunday, Kate and Craig Walton, Tyler and Rachel Sandifer and Brant and Abbey Sandifer; her great-grandchildren, Micah Sandifer, Ezra Sandifer, Whitlee, Bradlee and Sikes Walton, Olivia and Logan Davis, James, Jadyn, Abigail and Catherine Black and Elijah and Caleb Black; her sisters-in-law, Edith Adcock and Barbara Johnson and her husband Bill, all of Tifton; a brother-in-law and his wife, Bill and Jean Sandifer of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews.
