Laconia--- Alan Dale Punches, 58, died suddenly Friday, July 27, 2018 at his work.
Born October 13, 1959 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Dewey
and Marie (Maxwell) Punches.
Alan was an educator for over 30 years, recently moving to Laconia
5 years ago from Ohio. He was the Vice President of Student and Academic
Affairs at Lakes Region Community College. Alan was a lifelong learner and
teacher, and cherished the relationships he maintained with students and
faculty at several colleges and universities. He was a student of
philosophy, academia, history, and psychology, and held multiple graduate
degrees from Colorado State University. He was quick with a joke and a laugh,
and possessed a wonderful “dry” sense of humor, and displayed great love and
compassion for his family.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Wade) Punches; three sons:
Christopher, Dustin, Andrew Punches; parents Dewey and Marie Punches; brother
Michael Punches; sister Becky Walker and her son Daniel Worthen. He was preceded in death by his niece Chelsi Koller in 2016.
As per his wishes there will be no services.
