Joseph Isaac Reynolds, 92, devoted husband and loving father, died on August 1,2018, surrounded by family.
Joe was born in St. Marys, WV to the late Lynden E. and Mildred (Pritchard) Reynolds.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Lynden Reynolds, Jr. and Millard Reynolds and a sister Charlaine (Reynolds) Gilpin.
He is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife, Margaret Ann (McCray) Reynolds. He will be lovingly remembered by his four children, Stephanie Moran of Worcester, MA, Stephen Reynolds of Harvard, MA, Gregory Reynolds and his wife, Janice of Tewksbury, MA and Cynthia Roush and her husband Todd of Advance, NC; eight grandchildren, Joseph Reynolds and his wife Jessica of Harvard, MA, Katharine Moran of Lowell, MA, Meg Ann Gibson and her husband Connor of Bryn Mawr, PA, Julie Reynolds of Boston, MA, Emily Rhyne and her husband Blaine of Killeen, TX, Sarah Reynolds of Charleston, WV, Ryan Reynolds of Austin, TX and Rebecca Reynolds of Tewksbury, MA; three great-grandchildren, Aubrie and Hannah Reynolds and Connor Gibson.
Joseph was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict serving in the Army Air Force. He eventually retired as a Captain in the Air Force Reserves. He was proud of his service and had deep love of his country.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S.
He eventually found his calling in sales and marketing of non-metallic outlet boxes and other electrical devices. He started his career with Union Insulating Company of Parkersburg, WV. Joe was a leader within the industry and he gained the respect of his clients and colleagues in the industry.
Joseph was led in all aspects of his life by his deep and abiding faith. He was guided to his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by his Grandmother Rosa Belle Pritchard. His family is comforted by the thought that he is reunited with her and his other loved ones.
Joe was an avid reader and a master gardener. He was lifelong supporter of West Virginia football and basketball teams. He belonged to the Lions and Rotary in Fuquay, North Carolina. He was a Master Mason for more than fifty years and a member of Mount Olive Lodge in Parkersburg, WV.
The Reynolds family is grateful to the staff of Compassus Hospice who provided loving care to Joe. They were also blessed by the devotion and compassion of the staff who provided round the clock care.
A service will be held at Farmer and Dee Funeral Home in Tewksbury, MA on Monday, August 6, at 11 a.m.. A Masonic service will be held as part of the commemoration. Interment in West Virginia will be held at a later date.
