Mabel Vito of Franklin, formerly of Dedham, died November 24, 2005 at the Charlwell House Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 91. Mrs. Vito was born in Watertown and was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Sandelli) Schiripo. She was a long time Dedham resident and worked as a nurse’s aid.
She was the beloved wife of the late Remo “Rocky” Vito.
She was the loving mother of Nancy Sparks of Dedham, Carol Tierney and her husband Robert of Dedham, Remo “Butch” Vito and his wife Judy of Franklin and Paul Vito and his wife Dorothy of Norfolk. Sister of Rose Sarro, Josephine DiRocco, Dorothy Poitvin, Andy, John J., and Joseph Schiripo and the late Frank, Patrick, Fred, Anthony and Renaldo Schiripo, Mary Lenzi, Viola Demaris, and Margaret Morin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear sister in law of Alvina Milewski of Dedham. Adored grandmother of Ronald Sparks of Wenham, Robert Sparks of Boston, Joseph Sparks of Norwood, Theresa Ward of Andover, Karen Stankard of Northbridge, Kathy Glynn of Norfolk, Robert “Chip” Tierney, Richard and Russell Tierney all of Sandwich, Kelly Burke of Alpharetta, GA, Randy Driscoll of Aptos, CA, Tobey Vito of Dover, NH, Shannon St. Louis of Woonsocket, RI and Jennifer Vito of Franklin. Dear great grandmother to 26 children and one great great grandchild.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday at 8:00 AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-8 PM. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
