Robert Lima, age 77, a lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brocton.
Born in Taunton, MA on February 6, 1941, he was a loving son of the late Marion Lima and John Lopes.
Bobby grew up and was educated in Taunton. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Prior to retiring, he had worked as a carrier for BayBank.
Music was the focal point of Mr. Lima’s life, as well as being a devout Catholic. He was affectionately known as “Little Lima” in the Taunton area and loved playing the organ, and entertaining and sharing his love of music with many organizations. His musical skills were so much appreciated at local nursing homes and he was loved by all who were blessed to have known him.
He was the devoted father of Rob Lima of Maryland and Brian Lima of Florida. He was the dear brother of his twin sister Roberta E. Sanchez of Florida, Richard Arthur Lima of Florida and Marilyn Lima DeShields of Florida. He was the cherished grandfather of Brianna and Brandon, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his former wife Joyce Lima.
Services, as well as burial at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Mr. Lima with a donation in his memory made to the charity of ones choice.
