CHICOPEE ~ Lucille “Lou” (Vaillancourt) Boutin, 92, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, July 30, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Fairview Avenue in Chicopee on June 14, 1926, the beloved daughter of the late Octave and Rose Alma (Mathieu) Vaillancourt. She was raised in Granby, graduated from South Hadley High School in 1945 and moved to Chicopee in 1947 where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was an Administrative Secretary at Mount Holyoke College, a Secretary at the former A.G. Spalding Company and was last employed as the Office Manager at Interstate Motor Freight System in Chicopee which later became Consolidated Freight in East Windsor, Connecticut and retired in 1987. She was a member of the Pioneer Valley Campers Association Chapter 8, the Local Teamsters Union 671, and the Friends of the Chicopee Senior Citizens. Lou and her late husband, “John”, enjoyed ballroom and square dancing and traveled extensively. She was a communicant of the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church and currently a communicant at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, both in Willimansett. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who showered her family with her love and affection that was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Rodolph V. “John” Boutin who was Called Home on September 28, 2004. They were married on January 25, 1947 at Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving children, David J. Boutin and his wife, Susan, of Hernando, FL and Linda J. LaPlante and her husband, Floyd, of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Laura Merrill, Brian Boutin and his wife, Pamela, and Brenda Audette and her husband, Jon; her six cherished great-grandchildren, Evan Alves, Gala and Hayley Boutin, and Josephine, Charlotte and Eleanor Audette; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Boutin and Vaillancourt families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her cherished grandson, Greg S. LaPlante who was Called Home on September 10, 2015. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday morning, August 4, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, August 4, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
