TEWKSBURY: Andrea Corbett died July 28, 2018 at Bayberry at Emerald Court in Tewksbury, MA after a long illness.
Andrea was born in Boston, MA on March 23, 1946. She grew up in Portsmouth, NH with her parents Mary (M) Elizabeth Wilbur, MD and Alan Campbell Corbett, DVM.
Andrea graduated from Portsmouth High School and the University of New Hampshire, where she was a Ford Scholar and majored in English. She received her master’s degree at Vanderbilt University.
She was previously married to Joseph Broderick and Alan Rodrigues.
Andrea was a Professor of English at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell for many years until she retired in 2008.
At the time of her death, Andrea lived at Bayberry at Emerald Court in Tewksbury, MA. She previously lived in Dracut and Burlington, MA.
Andrea enjoyed playing bridge, and was a member of the American Contract Bridge League.
She leaves a sister, Judith Corbett Young and her husband Ralph, of Annapolis, MD; niece, Kimberly Young Wallace and her husband Michael; nephews, Jeffrey Young and his wife Ann, and Matthew Young and his partner Sarah; and several grand nieces and nephews.
Services were held privately. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
