John Leslie Spaulding, known to family and friends as Les, passed away on July 28, 2018. He was born on July 15, 1926 in Taunton, MA, son of the late Eveline and Raymond Spaulding. He attended Taunton schools and served in the Army Infantry in Germany during WWII. Upon his return home, he attended Brown University. His interest in accounting and determined manner allowed him to enjoy a successful career with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Massachusetts General Hospital and finally, as Director of Patient Accounts at New England Medical Center. Les was a long time resident of Raynham, MA, where he and his late wife, Patricia (Devlin) Spaulding raised their four daughters. He loved music, cooking, working in his yard and socializing with his neighbors. His fondness of seafood meant that you could find him at local clam bakes throughout the summer. After his wife’s death in 2001, he and his cat became inseparable. Les was predeceased by his daughter, Marcia. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Lorraine Sanford of Wareham, MA, daughter Georgeianna Tebbetts of South Bristol, ME and Long Key, FL, Joanne Grenier of Taunton, MA, Paula Heywood of Osteen, FL, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, August 7th at 11am. Visiting hours are prior to the service from 9:30-11am. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
