Michael James Moynihan, age 67, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, July 29, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Derry, NH, October 31, 1950, Michael, or Big Mike, was the son of the late Thomas and Janice (Abbott) Moynihan, also of Londonderry, NH. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy. When Mike was 12 years old, he began collecting stamps. It became his favorite past time and he later became a certified Philatelist. He was a food connoisseur. Lobster dinners with family were his favorite meal. He had a sweet tooth that everyone knew about. Whoopie pies were at the top of his list. He loved playing golf, gardening and watching as many movies as he could get away with. He was an animal lover and had more than 16 different family pets through the years. Mike was a long-time fixture in the kitchen and bath industry. Over the years, he became an expert in kitchen design, helping both customers and family with various construction and rehab projects. While Mike had many accomplishments, his most notable was his 47-year marriage to his wife Carol (Dill) Moynihan and the wonderful family they created.
In addition to his loving wife Carol, he leaves behind his son Michael James Moynihan II and wife, Jennifer of Dracut, MA; his daughter Allyson Marie Cooper and husband Adam of Andover, MA; five wonderful grandchildren Emma, Michael, Jack, Grace and Paige; and his beloved dog Colby. He also leaves behind a very large family; his 4 sisters Karen, Jen, Kathy and Coleen, extended family and many wonderful friends. The memories he created will remain with them throughout their lives. He was very blessed, very loved, and will be greatly missed.
There are no funeral services at this time. Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.
