Obituary

"Connie" died July 29, 2018. Connie was born at home in Windber, PA on December 16, 1923. Connie was a part of a large and extended family, who kept in touch with her over the years. Connie was devoted to her family and Roman Catholic faith throughout her lifetime. Connie said her daily prayers, she learned them from her deceased parents, James T. Plummer and Genevieve Myers Plummer. Connie was named after her mother's dear childhood friend, Mary Constance.
Connie was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Patrick Hugh McCann; sons: John Patrick McCann and John Henry McCann; daughter-in-law: Deborah Seibel McCann, Pat and Teen's infant son Brian McCann; brother: Thomas Plummer; sister-in-law: Sarah "Sally" Wolf Plummer; nieces: Mary Plummer and Sarah Genevieve "Jenny" Plummer; sisters-in-law: Sister John Blanche McCann, Sister Mary Jean McCann, Bernadette Weakland McCann, Peggy McCann Yokemick; and brothers-in law John "Jack" McCann and John Yokemick.
Connie is survived by her daughters: Mary Constance McCann Itle, Anna Elizabeth McCann Faxas, Blanche Genevieve "Genie" McCann Ruby; sons-in-law: Patrick Ruby, Art Faxas; daughter-in-law: Christine "Teen" Frank McCann; her brothers: Raymond Plummer and Paul Plummer; her sisters-in-law: Mary Alice Patton Plummer, Jeanne Reilly Plummer, Francis McCann McGuire; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie attended Mount Aloysius Academy in Cresson, PA in the 7th grade. She continued her education there through senior year of high school. She went on to Mount Aloysius Jr. College and graduated from Mount Aloysius in 1943. At Mount Aloysius, Connie formed dear friendships, treasured memories, and an enduring interest in literature and history. She served as the President of the Alumni for a period of time and as an active member of the alumni for many years.
Connie was married to Patrick Hugh McCann. Connie and Pat had many cherished years of raising a family of five children in Ebensburg, PA. She was an active member in the church events and elementary school, volunteering for what was needed. She was known for her baked goods. She loved volunteering in the school library. Connie and Pat retired in the warmer climate of California in 1984. She enjoyed helping out at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura and especially helping with the CCD program. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, baking, and word puzzles.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura. A Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Wednesday in the Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, 10800 Henderson Road, Ventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
