LACONIA - Kathleen (Powers) Fortin, 93, a long-time resident of Laconia passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 25, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Kathleen was born June 18, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY.
Kathleen was married to her loving husband Larry for 64 years until his death in 2013. Before moving to Laconia in 1990 they resided in Woodbury, NY. Kathleen and Larry lived in Laconia for 23 years. They enjoyed RVing, gardening, making jam and volunteering at LRGH. Kathleen was an accomplished quilter, water color painter and avid reader.
Kathleen leaves behind six children, Marie La Lena of Athol, MA, Pat and Kathleen Fortin of Attleboro, MA, Ann Desroches of Laconia, NH, Thomas Fortin of Stroudsburg, PA and Lucien Fortin of Manorville, NY. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Kathleen's favorite words of wisdom that she shared with many were "Little said is easily mended".
Kathleen's family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to all the staff at Central New Hampshire Hospice.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 3, 2018 at St. Andre Bessette Parish –St. Joseph’s Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia.
