Rita A. (Racca) Donahue of Medford died on Friday, July 27, at Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Virginia (Miranda) Racca. Rita moved to Medford in 1940 and was employed for many years as a salesperson in the clothing industry.
Rita was the beloved wife of the late David Donahue, and the dear sister of the late Assunta Iacono, Edith Mercurio, Evelyn O'Malley, Olga Kelly, Florence Gigliello, and Ruth Racca. She was the loving aunt of Ronald Kelly, Judy McCarthy, Virginia Azzolino, Linda Sneider, Kathleen Mercurio, Christine Dattero, and the late Christine Francis, Michael Iacono, and Anthony Gigliello. Rita was the great aunt of 9 nieces and nephews, great great aunt of 13 nieces and nephews, and great great great aunt of 1 niece. She is also survived by her dear friends Rene Tejada and Maria Erazo, and their children John and Jessica.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, August 2 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Wednesday, August 1, from 5 through 7 PM.
