Pearl P. (Couture) Guay, 89, of Berlin, passed away Saturday July 28, 2018 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health. Pearl was born in Berlin on July 6, 1929 the daughter of the late Gedeon and Fridoline (Roy) Couture and was a lifelong resident. She attended St. Kieran and St. Joseph Churches, now known as Good Shepherd Parish and had been employed by Ware Knitters and St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home until her retirement in 1993. Pearl had wintered in North Fort Myers, Florida with her late husband for many years. Pearl cherished her family above everything and took great pride in her home.
Members of the family include her children Ronald Guay and wife Bernadette of Berlin, Susan Guay and companion David Comeau of Berlin and Debra Goddard and husband Robert of Berlin. Grandchildren Marc Tardiff and wife Erica of East Hampton, CT and Michael Tardiff and companion Lindsey Collins of Aliso Viejo, CA. One great granddaughter Cora Tardiff. Siblings June Couture, Joan Couture and Donald Couture, all of Berlin. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Guay; sisters Shirley Lessard and Priscilla Berube; brother Warren Couture.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 6, 2018 at 10am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. At Pearl’s request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pearl’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Activities Fund, 29 Providence Ave., Berlin, NH 03570. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham, NH.
