Obituary

Paul C. Dardano, age 65, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton, passed away July 27th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. Paul was an avid sailor and at the age of 18 sailed a small boat from Massachusetts to Florida. After high school, he traveled the world with a friend, living in various spots in Australia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe over the course of 8 months.
In the late 70s Paul attended the Paul Hall Center for Maritime Education and Training in Piney Point, MD where he earned his captain's license and became a merchant mariner. He then taught at the school before leaving to join Crowley Towing and Transportation as a tug boat first mate, transporting barges in US and Caribbean waters. From there Paul earned his real estate license and founded Dardano & Associates Real Estate in Dorchester. After 20 years he sold his business and worked at Gibson-Sotheby’s until he became ill in 2017. He continued to sail for most of his life and was a member of the Catalina Assn. of New England. He enjoyed reading and was an avid sports fan.
Beloved husband of Beth Shepherd. Father of Evan Dardano and his wife Rebecca of Easton, Jared Dardano of Quincy, and Dan Shepherd and his wife Elise Lippmann of Cambridge. Brother of Robert L. Dardano of Brockton and Lynn P. Dardano of FL. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 4-8 pm. Funeral Service at the Congregational Church of Canton 1541 Washington St. Canton Wednesday morning at 10. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Greater Boston Food Bank 70 S. Bay Ave, Boston, MA 02118.
