Obituary

NATICK: Doris B. (Brower) Killam, 94, of Vision Drive passed away on Thursday, July 26th of natural causes. Her beloved husband of 73 years, Horace G. “Bud” Killam Jr., passed away in 2006.

Born in Cambridge on the 16th of April 1924, to the late Hiram and Lily (Bottomley) Brower, Doris lived in the Natick area all of her life. Doris owned and operated a nursey school and was a pre-school teacher for most of her career. She also worked as an instructional assistant for the Natick and Wellesley public schools until her retirement.

Doris was a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Natick. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her life and her wonderful sense of humor kept all of them smiling. Doris had an amazing gift of accepting people, no matter their background. She continually welcomed and touched people in a very genuine way her entire life.

Doris is survived by her three children: Marcy Evans and her husband Brian of Natick and Barnard, Vermont, Leslie McIntyre of Limerick, Maine, and Bud Killam and his wife Lisa of Natick; her eight grandchildren: Megan, Rebecca, Rachel, Andrew, Tristan, Hugh, Robert and Kate; and her 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 2nd at John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA 01760 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760. Interment will be private.
