Natick: Beverly (Ward) Hunde ,89 , passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 25th after a short illness. “Bev” was the loving wife and happily married for 40 years to husband John Hunde who predeceased her in 2012. A long-time resident of Natick, Bev graduated from Natick High School in 1947 and began her 40 year career with New England Telephone Company where she worked as a telephone operator, union steward and ultimately retired as an administrative assistant. Bev enjoyed traveling worldwide with her husband John visiting over 26 countries including her favorites China and Africa. Her most memorable years were spending six months a year with John at their beloved cottage on Long Sands in York Beach, Maine. There they shared so many happy, great times with their family, friends and neighbors. She was loved by so many in all her years.. She didn’t like the formality of Beverly or Mrs Hunde…… She’d just say… call me Bev.
Bev adored animals, especially her dogs. She was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan and watching the horse races.. Most importantly though, Bev loved her family they were most important and ensured they surrounded her all the time. Bev is survived by her children: Richard Barber Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of Manchester, NH. R. William Barber of Natick, MA and Deborah Barber-Donovan and her long-time partner, Wayne Wilk of Framingham, MA; her grandchildren: Andrew Barber, Adina (Barber) Cripps, Keith Barber, Katie (Barber) Ivester and Karrie Barber-Menswar. Her great-grandchildren: Ashlin Ivester, Keelin Cripps, Liam Cripps, Kadence Menswar, Avery Menswar, Frankie Barber, Adrian Barber and Casey Barber.
Bev was formerly married to Richard Barber Sr. who deceased in 2016. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, at 12:00 pm at John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick, MA. 01760 .Visitor viewing services are prior to the funeral service on August 1, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the funeral home.
