Maria Fidalga Soares Rosa (92) of Brockton died July 26th peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of the late Cesar Soares Rosa.
She was born in Mosteiros, Corvo, Fogo, Cabo Verde and was a communicant of Nova Alianca Church of Nazarene. Maria, a selfless and humble woman, cared about the welfare of her devoted children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was also known for her excellent coffee and cooking skills.
Survivors include two sons: Noel Rosa and Francisco and wife Terezinha Rosa of Brockton. Three daughters: Leonilde Rosa, Rosemary Rosa, both of Brockton, and Maria and her husband Chuck Sullivan of Plymouth. Also survived by sister, Catarina Lopes, of Brockton. Maria will be missed dearly by her thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Tuesday July 31st at 9:30 am with Bishop Filipe C Teixeira, OFSJC officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation Monday July 30th from 6-9 pm.
