Daniel Lavelle Williams, Sr., 56, of Tifton passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mr. Williams will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Josh Williams, Jared McMillan, Jacob Williams and Will Edwards will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Tifton Machine Works.
Born March 18, 1962 in Tifton, Mr. Williams was the son of the late Cecil Lavelle Williams and Jewel Faye King Williams. He was a machinist for 39 years in Tifton and was presently employed at Tifton Machine Works. He was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Williams is survived by his care-giver and significant other, Barbara Benchoff of Tifton; one son, Daniel “D. J.” Williams, Jr. of Tifton; three daughters, Erica Landers, Danielle Howell and Karrah Williams, all of Tifton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Bo Brooks and Joy and Chris McMillan, all of Tifton; and seven grandchildren, Tasia Wallace, Tavon Wallace, Tyrique Wallace, Taiyana Landers, Ivey Williams, Ryland Howell and Dalyis Hines.
