Helen Evans Gregory, age 85, of Chase City, VA, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018. She was born September 27, 1932 in Mecklenburg County, VA and was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Evans and the late Carrie Mae Hatchell Evans.
She retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory and was attending First Christian Church in Chase City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Gregory; daughter, Linda Diane Hendrick; son, Lester Roland Hendrick; one sister; and five brothers.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Goldie Mae Upton and Carol Sue Hendrick; one son, Melvin Scott Hendrick and wife, Marjie; three grandchildren, Courtney Michelle Calhoun, Sandy Gail Hoover, and Edward Tracy Upton; three great-grandchildren, Trinity Calhoun, Elyssa Long, and Daelyn Long; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Lucky.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Boydton Baptist Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.newcomballgoodfh.com.
