Joseph Edward Havens, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Memorial graveside services will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at The Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with his son Adrian Havens officiating.
Mr. Havens was born December 25, 1929, in Steamboat Rock, Iowa to the late Benjamin Harrison Havens & Rena Folkerts Havens. He lived in the community from 1999 to 2017. Mr. Havens received his bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Florida and served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his son, Adrian Havens of Blair, Oklahoma. He is also survived by many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Newcomer Havens.
