Joan E. (Fitzpatrick) Michaud, 83 of Salem, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at the NSMC, with family by her side, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Raymond R. Michaud, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in Swampscott, she spent her early years in Nova Scotia with her family the late Cecil and Josephine (Langell) Fitzpatrick. Her family moved to Lynn where she was raised. Joan first worked for Sylvania in Salem at the Boston St. plant. She left Sylvania after twelve years and for the next ten year worked for the Axcelis Corporation of Danvers. She was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and in her spare time enjoyed reading.
In addition to her husband Ray, she is survived by two daughters, Donna A. Haynes and her husband James of Georgetown, Linda J. Bochicchio and her fiancé Norman Hamel of Peabody, a son, Richard R. Bochicchio of Georgetown, a step-daughter, Maureen A. Pinkerman and her husband Thomas of Manchester, CT, a step-son, Paul R. Michaud and his wife Lisa of Exeter, NH, her sister, Jean Gilbert and her husband Pat of Peabody, her brother, George Fitzpatrick and his wife Cecile of Lynn. She also leaves five grandchildren, Richard Bochicchio of Salem, Leanne Haynes of Georgtown, Emily Michaud of Exeter, NH, Shannon Dubay of Cape Town, South Africa & Bryan Dubay of Manchester, CT, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm to be followed by a private funeral service. Burial at a later date, will be private.
