Obituary

Maurice Domina Gregoire 65, passed away on July 21st 2018 surrounded by his family, He was born in Cornwall Ontario to Pauline Leduc and the late Andre Gregoire. He moved to the states as a young child where he attended St. George School and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1972. Right out of school he entered the US Navy and proudly served his country stationed on the USS Independence. After completion of his service he began his long and successful career at Smith and Wesson where he retired in 2015. In 1976 he married his love Deborah Kaczor who he lost to Alzheimer's Disease in 2016. Maurice was an avid outdoors man who could be found walking, hiking or biking any chance that he got. He enjoyed fishing trips to the Quabbin Reservoir and going to the races with his good friend David; dinners at The Ninety Nine with his granddaughter Chloe; vacationing at Lake George and dancing the night away with his fiancé Sharon. He is survived by his two daughters Lauren and Sarah Gregoire; his granddaughter Chloe Galipeau; his sister Diane Powis and her husband Glenn, his mother Pauline Gregoire; his extended family in Canada and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving fiancé Sharon Flynn; who though deep love, patience and understanding helped Maurice find hope and joy again. The family would to thank the staff at Baystate Medical Center who participated in his care. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a funeral home service to take place at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
