FALL RIVER – Elsie “Vo Elsie” (Rapoza) Luiz, age 94 of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was the former wife of the late Manuel Luiz & the daughter of the late Manuel & Delfina (Souza-Gaspar) Rapoza. Prior to retiring, Elsie worked as a machine operator for the former Nancy Dress Co. She was also a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter Judith R. (Luiz) Da Silva (husband Carlos) of Swansea; 2 grandsons: Carlos Da Silva Jr. (wife Carolyn) of Swansea and Brian Da Silva (wife Leslie) of Bristol, RI; 3 great grandchildren: Dominic, Alexis, & Ariana Da Silva.; her sister: Miguelina Carvalho of Westport; several nieces & nephews. Elsie was also predeceased by her 5 sisters & 1 brother.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Friday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
