Obituary

Dean Champagne Doucette, age 66, of Medway, MA passed away on July 20th, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Dean is survived by her children, Seth Doucette, his wife Hayley, and Hannah Doucette, and her husband Stephen Foley; her beloved grandchildren, Claire and Ava Doucette; her sisters Linda Champagne and Paula Shea, and her husband Frank; and her twin brother, David Champagne, and his wife Kathi. Dean also leaves behind Kevin Doucette, many nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends, and coworkers. Dean is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Eunice Champagne. Dean was raised in Riverside, R.I. and attended East Providence High School. She graduated with a nursing degree from Massachusetts General Hospital and served as a nurse for 30 years, nearly 25 at Boston Medical Center. Throughout her life, Dean shared many fond memories with her family on their farm in Avon, CT. Dean will be remembered most for her ferocious love of her children and grandchildren, her dedication to the Boston Red Sox, and her exceptionally large meals made for anyone who came to her home. Dean also loved the finer things in life, including long days on the beach, Block Island, cruises with her sister, spoiling her grandchildren, jewelry, Corona Lights, manicured nails, shopping, and trips to the casino. Dean will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Visiting hours will be held at the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home in Medway, MA from 3 to 6 pm on Friday, July 27th. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held afterwards from 7 to 11 pm at 3 Restaurant in Franklin, MA (461 W Central St.) for all who would like to attend. A private burial service will be held at West Avon Congregational Church in Avon, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
