Obituary

Major Daniel F. McCarthy, retired U.S.M.C, passed away July 20th at the Baypointe Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. Born and raised in Milton, he was a “Double Eagle”, graduating from Boston College High School and Boston College. He was a Marine Corp Veteran of WW II and the Korean War and retired as a Major. In addition to seven Campaign Stars, he was awarded four Presidential Citations as well as the U.S. Marine Commendation Medal with “V” Device. Mr. McCarthy was employed by the Florida State Department of Labor for 30 years before retiring as a Manager.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret J. Uncle of Edward Sullivan and his wife Lorraine of Andover and Joanne O’Brien and her husband Eugene of Canton. Great uncle of Edward H. Sullivan, Jr., Joseph Sullivan, Heather Medeiros, Tim O’Brien & Jamie Mihaich. Great great uncle of Lily, Jack, Evan, Logan, Owen, Graeme and the late Nolan.
Funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home Canton Thursday morning at 10:00. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park Canton.
