New Bedford – Paul D. “Paulie” Mello, 21, of New Bedford died at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Julie J. (Spooner) Mello.
He was born in New Bedford, son of Paul G. and Barbara L. (Cook) Mello of New Bedford, and was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Mr. Mello enjoyed listening to music, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Including his wife and parents, he is survived by a maternal grandmother: Dorothy F. (Pittsley) Cook of New Bedford; a daughter: Mia M. Mello of New Bedford; 5 siblings: Robert W. Reynolds of New Bedford, Tabatha M. Mello of New Bedford, Joey Mello of New Bedford, Paul Mello of New Bedford and Roger Mello of Virginia; several aunts and uncles; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; and several cousins.
He was the grandson of the late Wilfred W. Cook and Arthur D. and Rita P. (Lagasse) Mello.

Funeral on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Kirby Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation 1 hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 A.M.
Interment will be private.
