FALL RIVER – Vasco P. da Silva, age 85 of Fall River, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at RI Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Mosteiros, São, Miguel, Açores, he was the beloved husband of the late Maria Espirito Santo (Medeiros) da Silva and the son of the late Domingos Pavao da Silva & the late Maria do Carmo (do Monte) da Silva. Prior to retiring, Vasco worked as a Laborer in the Construction Industry. He was also a 50 yr. member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America, Local 610, Pleasant St. Fall River. He was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church, a longtime member of the St. Anthony Band Club, and an avid animal lover.
He is survived by his two children: Mario J. Silva (wife Teresa) and Bella M. Rego (husband Antonio) of Fall River; five grandchildren: Eric, Nicole, Jason, Joshua, & Aaron; four great-grandchildren: Aria, Scarlett, Hudson, & Grayson; nieces & nephews. Vasco was the brother of the late Luis P. & João P. da Silva.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Monday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 9:00 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours on Sunday 5-8 P.M.
