MaryAnne (Hohmann) Kenney, of West Dennis, formerly of Whitman, passed away on July 18th after a brief illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was born in Dorchester in 1939, the first born of Edmund and Mary (Sweeney) Hohmann. She graduated in 1955 from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, A. Hohmann & Company, in Dorchester for 34 years. She loved to spend time at the Cape with her family and take long drives with her husband. She enjoyed playing “Words with Friends” and relaxing in the sun on a warm sunny Cape Cod Day. She especially loved spoiling her six grandchildren and the family dog Rocki.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her son, Stephen. She was the sister/sister-in-law of Edmund and Joyce Hohmann, Jr. of Norwell. She leaves behind a daughter/son-in-law Lisa (Kenney) Maragnano and James Maragnano from Chattanooga, Tennessee, formerly of Plympton; a son Michael Kenney of West Dennis; brother/sister-in-law Walter and Donna Costello of Pembroke. As well as six grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog “Rocki.”
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Friday, July 27th at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Oakridge Cemetery in South Dennis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26th from 4:00-7:00 PM.
