Marilyn J. Wright, 81, of Salem, passed away peacefully at Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody on Sunday, July 15, 2018 following a brief illness.
Born in Northampton and raised in Easthampton, she was the daughter of the late Wendell P. and Linda (Katzschmann) Wright. Marilyn had a varied career, but the job she loved most was as a security guard for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She held this position for many years until she decided to retire. Marilyn enjoyed her walks and visiting various local businesses and friends along her daily travels. She also loved reading, collecting and was a fiercely independent woman.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, David Lifka and Sherry, Linda Lifka Baker, Neil Arnold, Nancy Wright and family, Joseph Wright and family, as well as grand nieces and grand nephews, Andrew Lifka, Natalie Carter and Nick, Christy Lifka, Katie Lifka and great-grandnephew Ezra Carter. Marilyn also leaves many numerous and beloved friends. Her family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Patty Rutkowski for her compassionate caring.
