Julia Barbara (Hagopian) Yergatian 86, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday July 19, 2018 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Charles Yergatian, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
Born January 19, 1932, in Andover a daughter of the late Bedros and Juhar (Chilpian) Hagopian, she was a resident of Franklin for over 64 years.
She was raised and educated in Andover, and as a young woman worked on the Hagopian Vegetable Farm. Upon moving to Franklin, she worked for the Keefe Insurance Agency as a broker, for many years until her retirement. Following her retirement, she assisted in running the family owned Franklin Tile and Carpet.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who treasured spending time with her family, reading, traveling to Marco Island, Florida to spend winters, cooking and baking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Vernon C. Yergatian and his wife Areti of Franklin and Christine L. Avedisian and her husband Anthony of Franklin, 2 sisters, Elizabeth Sargavakian of Waltham, Vera Konjoian of Andover, grandchildren, Charles & Nick Yergatian, Jeffrey Avedisian and his wife Alexandra, Julia Everleigh and her husband Andrew and Sarah Polomski and her husband Paul.
Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Robert and Natalia Avedisian, Luke Polomski and Anthony Everleigh.
She was the sister of the late Mary Mardirosian and Eve Akillian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Monday July 23rd, at 10AM in the Armenian Church of the Holy Translators 38 Franklin St. Framingham, MA 01702.
Interment will follow at Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
