Georgia “Grace” Apperson Watson, 85, of Bogart, formerly of Tifton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at High Shoals Health and Rehab in Bishop. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Watson will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be meeting at the home of Susanne Nichols, 329 J. D. Nichols Road in Tifton.
Larry Apperson, Joe Eubanks, Buddy Evans, Howard Moore, Michael Watson and Joey Fletcher will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 21, 1933 in Tifton, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Charlie Jones Apperson and Lucretia Hobby Apperson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Cleveland Watson; one son, Stephen Michael Watson; a daughter-in-law, Anita Garcia Watson; three brothers; and five sisters. She was a homemaker and spent her life taking care of her family and others.
Mrs. Watson is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert Watson of Waynesville and the Rev. Brian and Angie Watson of Bogart; Darrell Edward Moore, who she loved like a son, and his wife, Sherri of Tifton; and one granddaughter, Kala Michelle Watson of Bogart, who was the apple of her eye.
