Betty Jean Delph Wilson, 75, of Edgewater, FL and Johnston, RI, passed away on Monday July 16, 2018 at Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach, FL following a nine-month battle with Lymphoma. She is the beloved eternal companion of Steven B. Wilson, married in this life for 52 years. She is the daughter of the late Ervin and Crystal Delph, the sister of the late Ralph Delph and a cherished aunt to his nine fantastic children. She is the wonderful mother of Lara N. Fountain of Killingly, CT; Mark E. Wilson of St. Johns, FL; Thomas W. Wilson of Auburn, NH, Grant S. Wilson of Richmond, KY and Megan O. Caswell of Wakefield, RI. She is the lovable Nana to Zach, Macy, Connor, Olivia, Avery, Noah, Garret, Chloe, Jonah, Abby, Ben, Lyla, Andrew, Russel, Tucker, Ethan, and Grayson.
Betty was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was raised in Miami, Florida. While attending Brigham Young University, she met and married Steve in Salt Lake City. After starting their family in Rhode Island and then in England, the Wilson family finally settled back in Rhode Island. Betty was a dedicated wife and a loving mother who worked hard to create a comfortable and inviting home for all who spent time there. Her hospitality regularly brought rest and healing to many who knew and loved her.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 551 Central Pike, Scituate, RI. Burial will follow in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Tuesday the 24th, 5-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI.
