Suzanne Nielsen Longshore-Nigro, 50, of Hampstead, NH passed away on July 17, 2018 after a long illness. She was at home and surrounded by her loved ones. Suzanne was born on January 14, 1968 in Ipswich, MA. She was a life-long resident of Hampstead and attended Hampstead Public Schools prior to graduating from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1987. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Northern Essex Community College and dedicated her entire career to helping others. Earlier this year she accomplished a lifelong goal by graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Rivier University. She was employed at Orchard Surgical Center in Salem, NH and was a part of the team that opened that facility.
Suzanne is survived by her husband George Nigro who she married in August of 2000; her two sons, Benjamin Proulx (Alicia Komaridis) of Hudson, NH, and George Nigro, III of Hampstead; as well as two grandsons Mason and Maxwell Proulx; her mother Leonie Longshore of Hampstead; and her sister Caroline Longshore (Gary Sowden) of Louisville, KY. She was predeceased by her father Wilber “Westy” Longshore and her brother David Longshore.
Following cremation, a Scripture service was held on Monday, July 23rd at 12:00pm in St. Anne Parish, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead. Calling hours were held in the Church from 10:30am – 12:00pm prior to the service. The family requests that contributions in Suzanne’s memory may be made to: Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (www.ocrfa.org) or to the cancer charity of one’s choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
