Linette Marguerite Monty, 49, of New Bedford died Wednesday June 19, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the longtime companion of Kenneth W. Margeson, and daughter of Jeannette V. (Paquette) Lockwood of Stoneham and the late Maurice A.Monty.
She was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Linette enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to play the piano. She was the kindest and sweetest soul to her family.
She was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School, Class of 1970.
Survivors include her longtime companion; her mother; her stepfather, Robert Lockwood of Stoneham; a son, Joel Monty of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Tara Carvalho and Jessica Monty, both of New Bedford; 6 brothers, Maurice Monty of Rhode Island, William P. Monty of West Wareham, Phillip Monty of Sandwich and Michael Monty, Leon Monty and Christopher Monty, all of Wareham; 2 sisters, Michelle Margeson of Dartmouth and Jacqueline Sylvia of Marion; a stepsister, Ruth-Ellyn Lockwood of Arlington; 2 granddaughters, Haylie and Hannah Carvalho; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordFriday June 21, 2002 at 10 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday June 20, 2002 from 5-8 PM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
