Eleanor “Ellie” (Barnicle) Demma, 77, of Ashland, died Monday July 16 2018 at the Mariam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland.
She was the beloved wife of Robert Edward Demma Sr. sharing 59 years of marriage.
A resident of Ashland for 60 years. She was born in Natick, the daughter of the late William and Doris (Malone) Barnicle.
Ellie’s life was a testament of total dedication and unconditional love and support of her family. At eighth grade she lovingly took on the enormous responsibly of caring for her ailing mother. She married and raised her children and helped care for her grandchildren with the same effort and devotion. Christmas and other Holidays and cookouts were a very special time for Ellie as she simply just loved having her family together.
She enjoyed yard saleing, keno, dancing, and Cape Cod. Ellie was formerly employed by the town of Ashland School System, Shaw’s, Market Basket, and the Granite Manufacturing Company.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her three children, Robert E. Demma Jr. of Webster, Lynne M. Culcasi and her husband Peter Jr. of Ashland, Ken A. Demma and his wife Natalie of Ashland, seven grandchildren; Kristin Culcasi, Nicole Culcasi, Troy Culcasi, Justin Demma, Tanner Demma, Zach Demma, and Ryan Demma. Her siblings; Thomas Barnicle of FL, John Barnicle of Natick, James Barnicle of Framingham, Joyce Trotta of Ashland, Charles Barnicle of Framingham, Raymond Barnicle of Natick, sister in law Florence Demma of Milford and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late William Barnicle, Richard Barnicle, Marjorie Egan, and Maxine Shaw.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday July 21 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.
Visiting hours are Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Interment Glenwood Cemetery South Natick.
In honor of Ellie’s colorful spirit, the family asks that you wear vibrant apparel to her services, in lieu of traditional black attire.
