Russell Ellsworth Macomber, Jr., age 74, of Spruce Pine, NC, died Friday, July 13, 2018 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born on April 19, 1944 in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Russell E. Sr. and Verna Louise Young Macomber, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his wife, Rosellen Reagan Macomber; his brother; George Macomber; and his sisters; Marilyn Mencer and Deborah Prescott.
Russell was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, NC. He loved his church, church family, and pastor. He was a quiet man with a good sense of humor and was also a caring husband and father. He enjoyed golf and watching John Wayne movies.
Left to cherish his memory are his son; James Macomber and wife, Heather of Taunton; his daughter; Lisa Macomber of Taunton; his sisters; Gail Anderson and husband, Richard of Canton and Joyce Peloso of East Bridgewater; his brother; James Macomber and wife, Barbara of Spruce Pine, NC and there are several nieces and nephews.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 10am until 12pm in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton. The committal and burial will immediately follow in Melrose Cemetery.
