Samuel R. “Sammy” Connolly
Of Westford, formerly of Tewksbury
Samuel R. “Sammy” Connolly, age 25, recently of Westford, longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at home, following a lifelong battle with Muscular Dystrophy on July, 15, 2018.
Born in Lowell on February 22, 1993, he was the beloved son of Sharon L. (Hawkes) Connolly and Leonard A. Connolly.
Sammy was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 2013.
Since graduation, he has enjoyed taking trips with his family and the special attention he received from members of the Tewksbury Police Department.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Jill E. Hawkes and her husband Michael Sprague of Lowell, Jessica L. Connolly of Tewksbury and Meaghan G. Connolly of Lowell; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Connolly of Tewksbury; also many extended family members and his special friend, Ed Jackman.
Sammy was the maternal grandson of the late Elaine and William Hawkes, Sr. and paternal grandson of the late James W. Connolly.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 19, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Friday, July 20, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury.
