James P. “Jimmy” McDowell, 54, of Milford passed away at his home on July 14, 2018. Born in Boston on February 28, 1964, he was son of the late Paul and Ruth (Donohoe) McDowell.
Raised in Medway, he was a 1983 graduate of Medway High School. Jimmy spent his career as a professional mason, building many artistic walkways, walls, chimneys and more for his clients as well as for his friends. A dedicated Bruins fan, Jimmy never missed a game. He loved hockey, and spent many hours on the ice prior to his brain injury in 2011.
He leaves behind his daughter Elizabeth Gould and fiancé James Rhinehart; his brother, Michael McDowell and wife Matilde Barbosa; grandchildren Brandon and Ella; his aunt, Rosemary McFail; chosen family Brenda, Doug and Stephanie Knotts; his “second parents” Robert and Vicky Elliott; dear friends Steve Costa and Mike Stearns and his family.
Services will be on Monday, July 23 at Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) with a calling hour from 11-12 and a service in the funeral home at noon. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway following the service. Family and friends are invited to attend.
