Shirley-Ann Nordquist of Framingham died on July 14, 2018, she was 83 years old. Born in East Greenwich, RI, she was the daughter of Alvin and Laura Clarke and the sister of Ronald Clarke. Shirley was the wife of the late Paul J Nordquist, they had been married for 60 years. A resident of Framingham, together with Paul they raised 4 daughters, Betsy Manzelli of Natick MA, Laurie Mailman of Freedom NH, Paula Gleason of Northfield VT and Kristen McCabe of South Kingstown RI. She is also survived by her son-in-law’s; Peter Manzelli, Bruce Mailman, John Gleason and Mike McCabe. Shirley loved spending time with her 8 grandchildren; Jeffrey Geissler, Kelsey Silverio, Brittany Mailman, Lacey Ricker, Eli Gleason, Hannah Gleason, McKenna McCabe, Jack McCabe and her 1 great granddaughter, Bianca Silverio. Shirley was an incredible mother and role model to her children and grandchildren.
Shirley received her BS in pharmacology in 1956. She was one of the first women to graduate as a pharmacist from the RI College of Pharmacy. She worked as a pharmacist for many years at Professional Pharmacy in Framingham and then at Jones Drug in Natick. Shirley was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Natick, and enjoyed the lifelong friendships she made there. An avid tennis player, Shirley also enjoyed quilting, entertaining and spending time on their sailboat.
A combined memorial service for Shirley and her late husband Paul Nordquist will be held on July 21st at 11am at Christ Lutheran Church in Natick MA. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Christ Lutheran Church, 113 Union Street, Natick, MA 01760
