
Payne, Alfred E. – of Andover formerly of Billerica, November 21, beloved husband of Eileen (Whittenberger). Devoted father of Michele O’Donnell and her husband John of Andover, Bruce Payne and his wife Susan of Billerica and Michael Payne of Worcester. Also survived by four loving grandchildren Matthew,Derek, Zach and Caroline. Brother of Edna Gramolini of Malden, Hilda Ahern of So. Yarmouth, Roger Payne of NH., and the late Ruth Gilligan and Bob Payne. A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Friday, November 25, at 4 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 2 thru 4. Interment will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be sent in Alfred’s memory to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St. Boston, MA 02210. Alfred E. Payne, of Andover, passed away Monday, November 21, at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Eileen M. (Whittenberger) Payne.
Born seventy-eight years ago in Melrose, Alfred was the son of the late Keziah (Hollaway) and Alfred E. Payne. After he and Eileen were married they lived in Lynnfield and Malden for a short time before setteling in Billerica were they raised their family.
Alfred was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and was very proud of his service to his country. He was a manufacturing executive and after his retirement he enjoyed boating and traveling.
His family and his grandchildren were at the top of his list and he enjoyed every moment that he could be with them.
In addition to his wife Eileen, he is survied by his daughter Michele O´Donnell and her husband John of Andover, his two sons, Bruce Payne of Billerica and his wife Susan, and Michael Payne of Worcester. His loving grandchildren, Matthew, Derek, Zach and Caroline. His sisters, Edna Gramolini of Malden and Hilda Ahern of So. Yarmouth, and one brother Roger Payne of NH.
He is predeceased by a sister Ruth Gilligan and a brother Bob Payne.
