Obituary

Anna M. (Grieco) Keeley, of Stoneham and formerly of Medford, passed away on Thursday, July 12th at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was 84.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Grieco. Anna graduated from Medford High School with the Class of 1951. After high school, Anna married John H. Keeley on September 5, 1955 at St. Clement Church in Medford. She and her husband owned and operated Engineered Truck Services Inc., in Medford. Anna loved working alongside her family and continued working up until a few weeks of her passing. She maintained the accounting and bookkeeping for the business and had a knack for keeping everything in good standing.

In her spare time, Anna enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the Granada Jets Bowling League. She was also an avid cards player and would often be found with a puzzle book. Whether it be a crossword, word search or Sudoku, she loved them all.

Those who knew Anna well knew that her favorite television show was Jeopardy, and they also knew not to call her home between 7:30-8 PM, so not to interrupt the program.

Anna was a genuine person, selfless and kind. She never had a bad word to say about others and would do anything for the people she loved. Her children and especially her grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.

Anna was the beloved wife of John H. Keeley, with whom she shared 63 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of John W. Keeley and his wife Bonnie of Tewksbury, Donna M. Leon of Brockton, and Diana Keeley-Corsetti and her husband Phil of Concord, California. Anna was the loving grandmother of William J. Keeley of Tewksbury, Sarah E. Freilicher of Portland, Oregon, Jamie E. Leon of Brockton, Melissa A. Keeley of Tewksbury and the late Isabella B. Freilicher. She was the dear sister of Frances Podesta and her late husband Robert of Randolph, and the dear sister-in-law of Ruth Grieco of Ashland. Anna was preceded in death by her siblings Nicholas J. and Frank Grieco, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Tuesday, July 17th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
