TERRAZZINO, Samuel Angelo, 91 years of age, and a resident of Needham since his birth on October 27, 1926, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 12, 2018. Samuel, a successful entrepreneur, was most proud of his family, and spending time with them was his favorite pastime.
He was an honorable man who instilled in his family that honesty and love of family is most important. “If you are honest, you will have success in life.” These words were always with him in marriage, guidance to family, in business and as a Veteran of the Korean War. Samuel served in the 24th Infantry Division with honorable discharge receiving multiple medals, “Good Conduct Medal”, National Defense Service Medal”, Korean Service Medal & Bronze Star Attachment”, “United Nations Service Medal” in recognition for his great dedication to our Nation. Samuel was a member of the American Legion. One of his greatest passions was taking care of the hungry and sick children by donating to multiple charities. Samuel was known best as a man of integrity who was proud, wise, honest and always had a great sense of humor. He will be missed dearly.
Samuel was preceded by his son, Angelo Terrazzino, his parents Angelo and Rosalia Terrazzino, his sister, Mary Turano and brothers Carmen, John, Peter and Guy. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, AnnaMaria (D’Amico) Terrazzino of Needham, MA, his daughters Rosalia Monroe and husband James of Grafton, MA, Albertina DeLano and husband Brian of Norwood, MA, his son Samuel Terrazzino and wife Krissi of Buffalo, NY, and daughter-in-law Barbara Terrazzino to his late son Angelo of Needham, MA. Nonno to his 10 grandchildren, Cynthia (Terrazzino) Difillippo and husband Craig of Nashua, New Hampshire, Angelo Terrazzino Jr. of Raynham, MA, Frank Terrazzino and wife Jen of Sharon, MA, Anthony Terrazzino of Needham, MA, Thomas Monroe and wife Jeni of Reno, Nevada, Jennifer (Monroe) Rodriguez and husband Andrew of Beverly, MA, Stefanie Monroe of Grafton, MA, Samuel, Victoria and Jasper Terrazzino of Buffalo, NY. Also his beloved 9 great-grandchildren, Will and Sofia Difillippo, Angelo and Andrew Terrazzino, Frank Jr. and Grace Terrazzino, Cecily, James and Samuel Monroe.
Samuel leaves behind many extended relatives, nieces and nephews, with fond memories of the many family celebrations hosted at his home.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, Tuesday, July 17 from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home Wednesday, July 18 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
