Dennis Edward Bennett, 94, of Tifton passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County with Pastor Don Cross and the Rev. Wayne Goff officiating. Mr. Bennett will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Tate Bennett, Chad Bracewell, Dustin Cross, Casey Cross, Justin Hall, Winfrey Shields, Reed Bennett and Kevin Sewell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Bennett, Kaine Bennett and Joshua Bennett.
Born November 14, 1923 in Berrien County, Mr. Bennett was the son of the late William Elijah Bennett and Ava Roe Bennett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Delma Lee Giddens Bennett; four sisters; and four brothers. He was a retired carpenter.
Mr. Bennett is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Vandell Edward and Jenni Lynn Bennett and Kenny and Candas Bennett, all of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Gary Bracewell of Alpharetta, Reba and Don Cross and Livia and Tim Hall, all of Tifton; one sister, Dorothy Bristol of Adel; 16 grandchildren, Shane Bennett, Kaine Bennett, Tate Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Wendy Thompson, Reed Bennett, Cora Bennett, Keridith Bennett, Chad Bracewell, Nichole Shields, Autumn Sewell, Dustin Cross, Casey Cross, Tammie Beasley, Justin Hall and Haylee Hall; and 19 great-grandchildren.
