Nicolina “Nickie” G. (Russo) Buccio of Medford, formerly of the North End, passed away suddenly on Monday in Venice, Florida. She was 92. The beloved wife of the late Frank Buccio, she was a devoted mother of Phyllis Buccio-Notaro and her husband Vito, Maria Buccio-Trzcinski and her husband John, all of Medford. Nickie was a loving nonnie to Matthew Alexander and Micaela Alexa. She was also a dear sister to Anna Tavolieri of Brighton, Guy Russo of Eugene, Oregon and the late Domenic, Louis, Alexander, Michael, Joseph and Anthony Russo.
A native of San Sossio Baronia, Avellino, Italy, Nickie lived many years in Boston’s North End before settling in Medford. She worked as a seamstress for over 45 years. Nicolina was a longtime member of the Madonna Delle Grazie Society and the St. Rocco Society. Most of all, she was devoted to her loving family.
A private family visitation will take place at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday July 14th from 10 – 10:45 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 14 in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11:15 followed by entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
