Roger L. "Cupcake" Botelho, Sr., 76, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday July 11, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Schlosser) Botelho.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Edmund Botelho, Sr. and Jean (Sylvia) Woodbury, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Botelho was formerly employed as a custodian for the New Bedford Police Department until his retirement. He had also previously worked at Revere Copper and Brass and as a fish cutter in the New Bedford fishing industry.
He was a former Boy Scout Leader for Troop 46 and Troop 145.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Scott Lee Botelho and his wife Rebecca of New Bedford and Kelly Scott Botelho and his wife Kathleen of Fairhaven; his siblings, Edmund Botelho, Jr of New Bedford, Jean Seed, June Botelho, and Mindy Botelho, all of Fairhaven; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Scott, Zachary, Tyler, Nicholas, and Courtney; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Roger L. Botelho, Jr. and brother of the late Steven Botelho.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
